Low-Calorie Chocolate Cake Recipe

2 cups Whey Low® Granular or Whey Low® Sugar for Diabetics

2 eggs

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup milk

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa

1/2 cup canola oil

1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

2 tsp. Watkins vanilla

1 1/2 tsp. baking soda

1 cup boiling water

1 tsp. salt

Chocolate frosting or vanilla buttercream frosting


Step 1: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.

Step 2: Grease and flour two 9-inch round baking pans.

Step 3: Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add eggs, milk, oil and vanilla; beat on medium speed for 2 minutes.

Step 4: Stir in boiling water (batter will be thin). Pour into pans.

Step 5: Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Step 6: Cool for 10 minutes. Remove from pans to wire racks. Cool to room temperature.
